Would anyone get a lower trim car to avoid leather seats?

I know many of us need to drive and most tires are not vegan. Beyond that , I am asking about trim levels because most higher level trims come with more leather in the car (gear shift, steering wheel, seats), but also they have more safety and navigation features. Would you avoid better trims to avoid more leather in your car?

I have done this twice. I have bought a specific level on a car because it had vegan leather and not real leather. No regrets whatsoever.

The number of models and trimmings we had to turn down since leather was the only option is depressing. Some, like the Volvo C40 and Polestar, are available in all trim levels without leather. As far as I can recall, the ID 4 and the majority of Teslas are also offered without leather.

In a used car, I wouldn’t care much. In a new car it’d be a no-go.

While I browse, I’m thinking about this as well. By the way, I’m rather tired of the electric/phev = posh = leather formula. I really don’t want this, just like JFC.

I would never buy leather seats for a secondhand car, but I gave up on the stirring wheel as nothing without leather was available. Furthermore, I will only be paying to repair the cover if I ask without it. However, I would never buy anything brand-new and get anything made of leather.

For its higher trim levels, Prius employs vegan leather; I know this isn’t what you’re asking.

I purposely went with a Prius so that I wouldn’t have to deal with leather. The rest of the car is excellent, but I’m still not thrilled with my seats because I detest leather for both ethical and sensual reasons.

Yes. It irritates me that I have to forgo a number of features that I would really want in order to avoid having my chairs covered in flesh.

I like cheap non-smart cars. If I could have crank windows I would. I prefer CD player to bluetooth. So yes but I would never buy a new, high end car with bells and whistles in the first place.

These days, there are several excellent cars with vegan leather seats available. Of could, get a finer automobile with vegan leather, or go for a lesser trim level vehicle. The answer ought to be clear on a vegan forum, it seems.

Anyway, I’m a vegan and try my best to live by that moral code, so I don’t want to sit on animal skins like some savage caveman.
