Video games with vegan messaging

There are a lot of different movies & books about veganism, but I’ve found other mediums lack vegan messaging, especially video games. Does anyone know of any? I remember one flash game called “Can Your Pet” from when I was a kid and that had a great effect on me. I think that having fun video games which happen to have a story supporting a vegan message could go a long way in changing minds.

Abe’s Odyssey was at least somewhat anti-meat in the same way Bad Taste was (I haven’t played many video games as an adult so this is looking waaaay back)

I’ve been attempting to create something for Fortnite using Unreal Engine, but I’m not sure I have the necessary skills. A horror game featuring very explicit vegan propaganda. Put the player in the position of the animal.

Vegan-themed video games, movies, and children’s literature would be very beneficial.

Many excellent vegan + anti-capitalist flash games are produced by Molleindustria; the McDonald’s Game is arguably the most well-known. Furthermore, PETA’s flash game parodies are paradoxically kind of funny. When I was younger, I spent hours playing their Cooking Mama game over and over again, thinking it was the genuine thing, which is probably why I became vegan.

Rescue animals that have been taken in for experimentation and return them to their natural habitat—in this case, the Green Hill Zone—is the basic idea behind almost every Sonic the Hedgehog game.

Alba is a game that I had a great time playing. Although it’s not intentionally vegan, it contains a heartwarming message about protecting the environment and animals. I’ve had a lot of fun playing it multiple times.

Though I haven’t played it, I noticed Voltaire the Vegan Vampire, which looked like an agricultural simulation game.

A small independent game called Endling: Extinction is Forever is something I believe you should play. Not vegan messaging exactly, but something quite similar.

Although it’s a somewhat old game, I believe Prey (2006) does a good job of capturing the atrocities of animal agribusiness. In the game, aliens kidnap your character and process and kill people for food. Their vessel has the appearance of a factory farm or slaughterhouse.

Additionally, you witness the aliens dismembering people and using them as submissive laborers.

A little bit like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. An on-screen notification stating something like “this ancestor didn’t kill domestic animals” will appear if you kill animals like cows, pigs, or chickens. While it’s still legal to hunt and kill crocodiles and jaguars, I thought it was intriguing that killing farm animals has repercussions.

Pikmin’s gameplay is similar to that of a reverse vegan game, with plants taking advantage of animals.
