I feel really lucky as a vegan. My mom always makes Thanksgiving special for me by preparing a vegan version of everything. She buys a vegan roast, makes sides like stuffing and cheesy potatoes, and even bakes a plant-based pie. This year, she’s trying a new pie flavor, and I can’t wait to try it!
I know not everyone has this kind of support, and I wish everyone did. If only all families could be this thoughtful. But even if your family isn’t, I want you to know you deserve kindness and understanding.
For those whose families may not be supportive, remember that there are others out there thinking of you and wishing you well. You’re not alone, especially on days like Thanksgiving. Stay strong and take care of yourselves.
Your mom is amazing! I honestly don’t like Thanksgiving because of all the meat everywhere. I’m the only vegan in my big family, but at least they enjoy some of the vegan dishes I bring. That’s a small win for me.
This is such a sweet post. Holidays can be really hard when people don’t seem to care about vegan options. I’m also lucky to have a mom who always makes sure I have a good meal. Moms like that are the best!
What a lovely post. Your mom sounds incredible, and I think many of us wish we had someone like her in our lives. I’ll definitely be thinking of you enjoying that delicious meal with your family!

I really wish I could invite everyone over for a big vegan Thanksgiving meal. It would be amazing to share this with people who don’t have the same support.

Sending love to all the vegans out there during the holidays. You don’t have to feel bad about your choices. Stay true to what you believe in!
Exactly. To everyone reading this, don’t feel bad for being vegan. You’re making a positive impact, and that’s something to be proud of.
I always bring my best vegan dishes to Thanksgiving. Funny enough, my family goes for my food first now! Over time, I’ve heard them talk about eating less meat and trying out vegan recipes. I see that as a small success. It’s a chance to show them how great vegan food can be while keeping the family traditions alive.
Your mom sounds awesome. Sadly, I know some people might criticize your family for not being fully vegan, but ignore that. It’s great that they’re so supportive of you.
This is wonderful! I’m lucky too. My husband supports me in being vegan, and my daughter-in-law just told me she’s bringing a vegan quinoa and butternut squash dish to our family dinner. It makes me so happy to see how supportive my family is.

Does your mom share her recipes or recommend any good brands?
I haven’t seen her recipes, but I can tell you my favorite roast is the turk’y roast from Gardein. It has a filling made with rice, cranberries, and kale, and it’s really delicious!
I’m not vegan or vegetarian, but I just wanted to say this post was really heartwarming. You seem like a kind person with a supportive family. That’s inspiring.
