Hi everyone! I’ve recently been diagnosed with turkey, chicken, and egg allergies. Needless to say, we’ll be eating more vegan food in my house. I was hoping someone had a good alternative to turkey on Thanksgiving. I’ve seen a few posts talking about vegan turkey loaves. Are they any good? what’s a good substitute to feed a family? We’re five people with rather large appetites on holidays lol.
Field Roast Celebration Roast blows Tofurkey out of the water.
There are several decent turkey roasts on Gardein. They provide a smaller loaf that serves around eight people in packets of two and a larger loaf. It’s a roast with stuffing and gravy on the side. If you have additional sides (and extra dressing), you might be able to get by with just one bread.
Holiday roasts are also made by Field Roast. It’s fairly excellent, the Hazelnut and Cranberry. I’ve not given the others a try.
The original holiday roast, tofurkey, has never really appealed to me. Perhaps there’s not enough filling and too much analog.
Both tofurkey ham and roasts are delicious.
While you’re here, check out the sidebar. You can make the switch easier if you understand how terrible eggs and poultry are.
Typically, Whole Foods provides a number of choices. It would be best to contact them closer to Thanksgiving.
Usually, I just make a ton of sides instead of the “turkey”. I don’t miss it, hehe
The cutlets with gardien breading are delicious. They come with brown gravy whether I deep fry them or cook them in the air fryer. Though not quite a loaf, it’s a decent substitute.
