Lizzo no longer vegan

“After tests and research, I found that animal proteins helped me have more energy, lose weight and helped with my mental fog,” Lizzo said. “This is the diet that’s helped me reach my goals and helped me feel good in my body.”

I hate this celebrity behavior that makes veganism seem like a fitness trend rather than a belief system.

One more dies in the air. When she began the video by saying, “What I eat in a day as a former vegan who added protein to her diet,” I wanted to scream. which only serves to reinforce the misconception that vegans don’t eat enough or any protein at all! Like, you could have had protein while following a vegan diet! Very annoying, and a setback for the movement. She could have easily gone vegan, but it simply seems like she’s eating healthier :weary:

Naturally, the comments sections on her posts are flooded with individuals insulting vegans without any justification.

In addition to being pro-body acceptance, she is vegan. Danny Ishay stitched the video, so that’s how I viewed it. She added “protein” back into her diet. Dafaq! Just state what it is, lady—we’re eating plant-based protein here.

Okay. She was the reason I was vegan. I guess I’ll go back to my youthful days of cruelty.

Are you really ever vegan if you aren’t for the animals? Not in my opinion.

Like other celebrities, she was not a vegan; rather, she was a transient plant-based dieter. Was not vegan at all.

I’ve found that human liver clears my head, but for now I’ll just consume fava beans and Chianti. Somewhere has to be the line drawn.

more health-fake vegan nonsense. wouldn’t be shocked if she received money from dairy industries or other entities to give up her veganism.

Lizzo’s declared purpose for eating meat was to reduce weight, which sounds like pretty fucking poor marketing for the slaughter industry—not that fatness is necessarily evil or anything. It would be as if The Rock claimed that funding the production of weaponry caused his hair to regrow.

When most people, famous or not, claim to have “done tests and research” on these topics, why does it always seem to mean something like “I ate one egg on a whim and felt 1% more socially accepted and a bit less hungry, then decided it was time to get on my soapbox”?
