Kevin Hart’s Ambitious Vegan Restaurant Chain, ‘Hart House’ Suddenly Closed All Locations Overnight

Southern California plant-based fast-food chain Hart House closed all four locations on September 10, 2024. The restaurant debuted in 2022 with actor and comedian Kevin Hart leading the charge to promote its mission for a vegan lifestyle. Hart House CEO Andy Hooper confirmed the news to Eater in a written statement: “The response to the product has been incredible, and we thank our committed team, our customers, and our community partners for helping make the change we all craved, and for their unwavering support of Hart House.”

This sucks seems everything is closing. Also heard vegan hooligans is in trouble

Not shocked. Simple, bland quick food on a small menu. It’s unfortunate to see vegan companies fail, but if non-vegans are to become vegans, the cuisine must improve.

Honestly I’m devastated. Sure it was a burger spot, but it was right by my apartment and open until midnight. AND HAD MILKSHAKES. I never even got to say goodbye

The emergence of vegan restaurants in New York City brought to recall the proliferation of frozen yogurt shops that proliferated some years ago, some of which are still operating today.

I don’t dine at these restaurants because I’m tired of them serving the same uninspired, unachievable, or beyond things. I’ll prepare one of those burgers at home if I want one.

I would be awesome if all these vegan places didn’t just sell the most unhealthy junk out there. There has to be some sort of middle ground between a double cheeze bakon plant burger that has all the saturated fat a person needs for a whole week and nothing but salads and juices.

It looked great in Merle’s video, damn it. But it must be difficult to compete in LA.

Oh, no! The celebrity-focused cash-in “vegan” fast food instant chain closed! Woe is me! Kevin Hart isn’t even vegan.

It’s happening everywhere.

Veganism is in a bit of a rut:

Impossible burger based junk food was so amazing back when they first came out. But it’s been 5 years or so and the thrill has worn out. I can make it at home. I want real vegan food.

In six months, this will be the majority of non-vegan chains and every vegan chain. Fast-casual is no longer relevant.
