Going plant based for the planet should be really the no brainer

Eventually the ethical side would follow because it breaks the psychological barriers. But really plant based diet could literally saves the planet in a very short time.

  • methane emissions cause 28x times warming than CO2
  • methane is completely absorbed in 12 years so we would have a significant change in temperature in few years
  • ecosystems recovered and creation of forests which is more absorption of CO2
  • so much less traffic, data, materials, oil to grow food for animals or process the meat

Really it is a no brainer collectively. It is such an easy choice to do globally, no need for big investments or change in the system. It is something we just can do today, most of us.

I swear that doing for the planet can really give an hand to the antispecism philosophy

It is, but human nature has long demonstrated that people don’t care about the environment, even if it means a little trouble.

My father is a strong believer in climate change, and he frequently participates in Friday’s marches and speaks out about it. He doesn’t even think of becoming vegan, though. Not at all. meat reduction, but no additional meat. Which is strange given his fervent beliefs regarding the urgency of the climate crisis.

People have a strong desire to believe that veganism is bad for the environment, that it is the biggest fallacy of our day, and that this belief is completely untrue.

Once more

18% of calories come from criminal theft and carelessness on 80% of the world’s farms.

It is pure hatred for the impoverished, the human race, and the most helpless creatures created by God.

Without a doubt, period

Regretfully, not many people possess the intelligence to comprehend it, much less the character to desire to change.

I know someone who works in the bread section at a supermarket. You would be surprised at how frequently people lament the bread’s vegan status. The only thing that has changed is that it now has a vegan label indicating that it is not cross-contaminated. Nothing else altered. But no, these people say the bread is terrible today and disgusting.

If you say you are doing it for the planet because it’s better for humans or better for children eventually some one will find a work around such as farming cows who can don’t fart or something stupid like that.

It isn’t because they care about animals that they will give up their hamburgers in order to save the one and only house they have. Conspiracy theories abound and any government that declares it necessary will be accused of nanny-ism (which they won’t do since the meat industry is too wealthy).

In principle, it’s a great idea, but in practice, not many people care and the planet is practically on fire, including many of the vegans I encounter.

Yep you would think a lot more people would just do it for their kids but I really never do see that. Me and my one other friend who are vegan are both childless cat lady’s. All my friends with kids eat meat daily. People never really believe how bad it is for the planet.

Funny, this makes me think of the third most popular post on vegancirclejerk. Just how I felt

Maybe they’ve heard too many times that going vegan has nothing to do with the environment.

Sadly, a lot of people lack the mental capacity to come to that conclusion.

The problem is that a lot of people don’t have brains in the first place.

Even so, while I’m a passionate environmentalist and vegan, vegan solutions aren’t necessarily the most environmentally friendly ones. For instance, the food’s place of origin, its seasonality, and the absence of processing all important. Eating processed foods containing palm oil, soy from Asia, and strawberries grown in greenhouses can make veganism worse than consuming a local egg or chicken. NOT SUPPORTING ANIMAL VIOLENCE IN ANY WAY. Simply stating, it needs to be contextualized, and it matters where you buy and where you come from.
