Like the caption says, my dad just made me a fancy 60 dollar steak and I can barely get it down without getting a lump in my throat. I’ve wanted to stop eating meat for a long time but I have always struggled with weight gain, I’m a 19 year old female and 105 pounds which is the most I’ve ever been. I also struggle with ADHD and if there isn’t something easy to make or already made available i’ll just completely forget to eat. If anyone has any suggestions for some easy starter high calorie vegan meals I would be so so grateful. I’m tight on money right now but hope to be able to change my entire diet soon!!
It should be rather simple to limit your diet to vegan versions of your current foods. What foods are you fond of?
Pasta, garlic, and olive oil are simple. When you add nutritional yeast, it becomes the ideal low-cost vegan comfort dish.
It’s a terrific idea to incorporate healthy fats. Nuts, seeds, avocados, oils, and even tofu contain healthful fats. And the simplest way to put on weight will always be through carbs. I adore the many delectable vegan baked goods recipes that are available! Every week, I prepare a delectable tofu fried rice, and I promise you that eating it has not caused me to battle with weight loss. That recipe has a ton of fat and carbohydrates, hehe!
Hello! I’m a male athlete with a form of ED where my sole food want at night is chocolate. I’ve always had trouble maintaining my weight. I therefore use Huel meal replacement powder, which has roughly 1500 calories per day (NOT their black version, which is more akin to a protein smoothie). Calorie drinking is the ultimate trick. even if the shake doesn’t suit you. In a few minutes, you can throw your head back, get it down, and carry on with your day. Don’t worry about the imitation meats either. Although they are primarily formed of plants and are hence fearsome, they are typically healthier than their meat counterparts. Just take a chance!
You gotta find the snacks that you love to gain weight! I love popcorn, and I can eat it by the box! And peanut butter on pretty much anything
Rice and bean dishes, pastas, burgers, and meal replacement shakes
When it comes to gaining and retaining weight, protein is your friend. It can be found in seitan, potatoes, lentils, almonds, and mushrooms. I enjoy preparing simple dishes with little preparation, such oven-baked stuffed mushrooms with yellow rice and roasted asparagus, or spaghetti with crumbled tofu and garlic toast. Invest in protein drinks and smoothies as well; Orgain is my favorite and they have a vegan line.
Your shopping price will go down significantly if you start buying more fruits and vegetables, legumes, nuts, and seeds in place of meat, fish, and eggs.
I am 32 years old, and before I became vegan (mostly whole food, plant-based), I had never gained more than 100 pounds in my adult life. I could now truly appreciate and enjoy food without the burden of shame and anxiety.
There are many calorie- and nutrient-dense vegan foods, including nuts, seeds, tofu, fruit, beans, whole grains, and avocados!
I’m not sure what you mean by high calories, but it seems like 105 pounds shouldn’t be an issue for someone to eat enough. Look for a plant-based protein that you can bake with frozen vegetables. Making soups with frozen vegetables and chickpeas is quite simple. Last but not least, sandwiches with peanut butter and sugar-free strawberry jam are always a good idea. You may dress them up or down depending on your dining preferences, but they’re still delicious and packed with calories no matter how you dress them.
Depending where you live there are services out there that deliver frozen, dietician made meals. They do cost on the takeaway range but are a good “no energy to cook” alternative.
My recommendation is drink calories meaning make smoothies and overnight oats with pb, nuts, flax seed and chia as they are high in calories. i would often overeat because i was underestimating total calories for my overnight oats
