These were my favorite for years! I hadn’t bought them in a while, and wow, they are terrible now. They looked kinda gray, and the taste was just bad. I found out they changed the recipe. Super disappointed.
What’s your go-to now?

I really like the Morningstar breaded ones. They remind me of school chicken sandwiches—fakey and super salty, but in the best way. Total nostalgia!

Same here! They really hit the spot.
If you can find them, the Quorn breaded chicken cutlets are really good. Closest thing I’ve found to real chicken flavor and texture. They have a ‘spicy’ version that’s kinda like a McChicken. Wish they still sold them unbreaded though.

Totally agree! Quorn is such an underrated brand.

I use the non-breaded Quorn for ‘chicken salad,’ and it works great.

I just had their cutlet for dinner, and it was amazing! I was recently diagnosed with celiac, and I’m really sad I had to give up the Quorn nuggets. They made for such an easy lunch wrap.

Tried the MEATI chicken cutlets in a Caesar salad, and they were delicious!

My kid and I both love the Quorn breaded patties!

Happy to hear the nuggets are still good! Loved those when I was a teenager.

For anyone with mold allergies, be careful with Quorn. It’s made from mold, and you could have a bad reaction.
We used to buy MF chick patties all the time, but the new Morningstar Farms version tastes like cardboard. Gardein cutlets are much better now.
Gardein is my go-to. Impossible makes some good ones too.
I tried the Impossible ones recently. Didn’t want to like them because they’re so processed, but they’re actually really good!
I used to eat Boca’s chick’n patties, but yeah, they’re terrible now. I stick with the spicy version—same texture, at least.
If you’re up for it, make your own with seitan! You can adjust the flavor however you want, and keep the recipe for your grandkids if you find a good one.

I tried making seitan once, but it didn’t go too well. Do you have any tips?
@Fitz
I just experiment a lot. If it doesn’t turn out great, I chop it up and throw it in a veggie pie. Wheat gluten is cheap, so it’s a fun way to make a lot of food on a budget!
We’re big fans of the Impossible patties in my house.
Quorn, Impossible, and then Gardein are my top picks!
