What are your thoughts on Dr. Praeger’s veggie patties? I just bought some to try, and I’m curious what you all think. I’m a bit picky about textures, which is why I don’t eat much meat. Would love to hear what others think before I try them out! I’ll update with my thoughts after cooking.
They’re pretty much classic veggie burgers, you can tell they’re made from actual veggie pieces. The taste is decent, but I find them a bit pricey.

There are some good coupons out there for Dr. Praeger’s. I used one recently, and it made them more affordable.

I haven’t tried them because they’re just basic veggie patties, and they’re pricier than other options I usually go for.
I like the flavor, but they don’t have a lot of protein.

Yep, same here!
I love the California burger! It’s got a nice green veggie vibe. I even snack on them plain with some tajin.

Totally agree! They’re super tasty!
I really like them because I’m not into the taste or feel of real meat. This move toward ‘fake meat’ stuff has been tough for me .

Same here! I’m a vegetarian because I don’t like meat taste or texture. The more veggie-like, the better. I do like the Beyond taco crumbles, though.
I’ve bought them a few times. I usually bake veggie patties in the oven—Dr. Praeger’s, Morningstar, Gardein. But Dr. Praeger’s seem to fall apart a lot. Not sure if it’s just the ones I got, but they were dry and crumbly. Now I buy the Wegmans brand patties, which seem similar but stay together better.
@Zion
They are pretty soft! I think they work better in a pan or fried. Now I’m picturing a juicy stuffed one .
They’re nostalgic, but I’d never serve them to guests. I’d go for a black bean burger or something more meaty-tasting.
The flavors vary a lot. I like them crisped up in a skillet.
The originals are just okay. I find them kind of wet and loose.
They have a new crunchy sweet potato burger that’s great! I air fry it and put an egg on top for breakfast.
They’re a bit too mushy for my taste.
Not a fan…they taste too ‘green’ to be a burger and too mushy for anything else. And I really don’t enjoy biting into a random chunk like edamame in the middle. I bought a Costco box hoping they’d be good, but I couldn’t make myself eat through them and ended up tossing them after they sat in my freezer forever.
@Bliss
Same here—a giant box from Costco took up half my freezer, but they were just too mushy no matter how we cooked them. Didn’t have an air fryer back then, though. Maybe that would’ve helped?

I don’t get it either! I tried the original ones, and I still can’t believe people keep buying them!
